Our business and operations are organized as follows:
Invoicing service for private individuals that enables them to invoice their customers without having their own company. EasyFreelance is based in Norway and procures from both Norwegian and foreign suppliers.
We have established the following policies and procedures to address actual and potential negative impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions:
The Transparency Act came into force in the summer of 2022 and the company is covered by this law. The company is supportive of a legal framework that promotes respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. The Transparency Act can be linked to several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals - for example No. 8 on "Decent Work and Economic Growth" and No. 12 on "Responsible Consumption and Production".
Due diligence statement - There are different risk factors associated with different industries and companies. The company operates in Norway, which is normally considered to have a low risk of violations of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. The financial industry and online services are also generally not considered to be particularly vulnerable.
But specifically in online services, rogue actors have been revealed. Examples of irregular working conditions include underpayment, improper deduction of wages and other coercive situations. In addition, around the company's supply chain, it is important to make assessments in relation to risks of violations of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. In making these assessments, we rely on the fact that the Transparency Act is based on the principles of risk and proportionality.
Online services - Many online service providers choose to purchase programming and coding services from external actors abroad. The company carries out these tasks partly with its own employees in-house and partly through a supplier in Norway. As a result, the company has good control over working conditions in this area.
EasyFreelance relies on many subcontractors to provide a complete service to its users. The supply chains for this type of service consist of a dozen suppliers. In the company, there are mainly online services purchased to operate the server, support, marketing and application. The company has analyzed the most important suppliers and the purchases made in 2022. In attempting to control the supply chain, the company must therefore in practice rely on the work that these suppliers do in this area. On their websites, there are detailed accounts of how they work with sustainability and social responsibility in a broad sense, as well as specifically on the Transparency Act.
The company will continue with the investigation of our suppliers and assess which of these the company considers to be at greatest risk of possible violations of human rights and the risk of indecent working conditions. This mapping work will form the basis for further prioritization of our efforts.
