Our business and operations are organized as follows:
Invoicing service for private individuals that enables them to invoice their clients without having their own company. EasyFreelance operates in Norway and makes purchases from both Norwegian and foreign suppliers.
We have established the following policies and procedures to address actual and potential negative impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions:
The Transparency Act came into force in the summer of 2022, and the company is covered by this law. The company supports legislation that promotes respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. The Transparency Act can be linked to several of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals - e.g. no. 8 on "Decent work and economic growth" and no. 12 on "Responsible consumption and production".
Due diligence report - There are different risks associated with different industries and businesses. The company's operations are conducted in Norway, which is normally considered to have a low risk of violating fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. The financial sector and online services are generally not considered to be particularly risky either.
But specifically within online services, rogue actors have been uncovered. Examples of irregular working conditions include low wages, unlawful withholding of wages and other coercive situations. Furthermore, it is important to assess the company's supply chain in relation to the risk of violations of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. When making these assessments, we rely on the fact that the Transparency Act is based on principles of risk and proportionality.
Online services - Many companies that offer online services choose to purchase programming and coding services from external parties abroad. The company performs these tasks partly with its own in-house employees and partly via suppliers in Norway. This gives the company good control over working conditions in this area.
EasyFreelance is dependent on many subcontractors in order to deliver a complete service to its users. The supply chains for this type of service consist of around ten suppliers. In the company, it is mainly online services that are purchased to operate the server, support, marketing and application. The company has analyzed the most significant suppliers and the purchases made in 2022. In the work of checking out the supply chain, the company is therefore in practice obliged to rely on the work these suppliers do in this area. On their websites, there are thorough accounts of how they work with sustainability and social responsibility in a broad sense, as well as specifically on the Transparency Act.
The company will continue to map our suppliers, and assess which of these the company assumes to be at greatest risk of any violations of human rights and the risk of indecent working conditions. This mapping work will form the basis for further prioritization of our efforts.
